Yesterday, students reviewed our HERO expectations for the bus, hallways, cafeteria, and bathrooms, and they have also been learning classroom and playground expectations. At Ben Franklin, our schoolwide rules are: ❤️ HELP EVERYONE 🤝 RESPECT OTHERS 🛡️ STAY SAFE As part of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), we explicitly teach, practice, and reinforce the behaviors we want students to use throughout the school day. Indiana Area School District, with the assistance of the Indiana Borough Police Department, PA State Police, Indiana Fire Association, Citizen’s Ambulance & Indiana County Emergency Management will be conducting a multi-agency emergency exercise on Wednesday June 24, 2026, at Eisenhower Elementary School. The Indiana Borough Police Department will be on-site with Indiana Area School District staff during the event. We want to bring this to your attention in the event that residents hear or observe this emergency response training.
We understand that this incident may cause some concern, and we wanted to assure you that these drills are being performed by police and other emergency personnel so there is no need to be alarmed. IASD is committed to prioritizing student safety, and these drills ensure that our district is able to respond swiftly in the event of an emergency.

IASD will implement a one hour early dismissal for ALL students on Monday, June 1, 2026. Indiana Area School District will host the PIAA playoff game scheduled for 4:30 p.m and has been asked to use the East Pike parking lot as spillover parking for the White Township Fields. This early dismissal will allow the buses to complete their runs and get the students out of the parking lots before the prime arrival time for the baseball game. Good Luck to the Baseball team as they start their run to another State Championship!
