The IHS Green Bandana Project is so excited to announce that our second annual “Light Up the Dark” will be held on October 28th from 6-8pm at the Indiana Senior High School.
IHS Green Bandana is a student-led mental health organization, working to provide resources to their peers and end the stigma around mental health. Members of this organization carry green bandanas on their backpacks, which show that they are a safe space to access mental health resources. All of our members are trained to direct students to help. We are so happy to have a chapter at our school. Here is a link to the national project if you are interested in learning more!
We are inviting you to “Light up the Dark,” a Halloween themed event that is intended to raise awareness about mental health to kids in all grades. We do this through age appropriate activities that engage kids and help them to gain an understanding of the Green Bandana Project and allow them to see that caring about one’s mental health isn’t scary.
This is a free event that is open to kids of all grades in the Indiana School District. Dressing up in costumes is encouraged (we just ask that there are no weapons or full-face masks)! There will be games, face painting, story reading, trick or treating, a pay-what-you-can bake sale, and more!
We are asking that families pre-register for the event so our student staff members can be adequately prepared for a spectacular event! Please use this link to pre-register, however, please know that it is NOT required.
Please reach out to our advisor, Miss Cassidy Black (cblack@iasd.cc), if you have any questions.
We are so excited to see you there!
